# AnyUtils > Free browser-based developer utilities and hardware tests. Tool inputs are processed locally, with no account required. Official website: https://www.anyutils.dev/. This guide describes the current working features and their limitations. AnyUtils is a free collection of browser utilities for developer/data tasks and interactive hardware checks. No account or installation is required. The current collection contains fourteen developer/data tools and seven hardware utilities, with light and dark themes and desktop/mobile layouts. Tool input and results are processed locally in the browser. JSON, tokens, Base64 input, local files, camera previews, snapshots and microphone recordings are not uploaded to AnyUtils servers. Copy and download are explicit actions. Local processing does not mean there are no network requests: the site loads pages, fonts and CDN images; hosting/CDN providers can process ordinary request logs. Camera and microphone access require an explicit Start action, HTTPS, browser support and permission. Hiding or leaving a capture page releases hardware; saved microphone clips are cleared. Hardware tools expose browser-observable input/output and do not certify device quality or automatically prove a hardware fault. Important limits: Base64 is encoding, not encryption. JWT decoding does not verify signatures, establish authenticity or support encrypted five-part tokens. JSON parsing uses JavaScript and may round integers outside its safe integer range. Review results before using them in an application or workflow. Interactive tools require JavaScript. Browser permissions, clipboard access, recording formats, keyboard shortcuts and device capabilities vary. Current instructions and limitations on each linked tool page are the source of truth. Only completed, publicly indexable pages are listed; planned tools and unfinished pages are not presented as available features. ## Website and navigation - [Free Online Tools & Hardware Tests](https://www.anyutils.dev/): Free developer utilities, data tools and hardware tests for your webcam, microphone, speakers, keyboard and mouse. Enter a HEX color such as #336699 or rgb(51, 102, 153). Use the native color picker to change the opaque color. Adjust Alpha for transparency; compare the preview and updated values. Copy HEX, RGB or HSL using the button beside that value. If Screen eyedropper is available, click it and select a screen color; cancel to keep your value. Three/four-digit and six/eight-digit HEX, RGB/RGBA and HSL/HSLA are supported. Saturation and lightness need percent signs. Values outside the supported range produce an error. HEX alpha rounds to eight bits; RGB/HSL display alpha to three decimals. Transparent colors look different on different backgrounds. Screen eyedropper support varies; the native picker always remains available. - [Contrast Checker](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/contrast-checker): Compare foreground and background colors against WCAG AA and AAA text thresholds. Enter the foreground text color and background color as HEX, RGB or HSL. Read the contrast ratio and the live text sample. Check normal-text AA and AAA indications separately. Check large-text indications only for text at least 18pt, or 14pt bold. Swap the colors or adjust them, then review contrast in the actual page context. AA requires 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. AAA requires 7:1 and 4.5:1 respectively. Pass/fail uses the unrounded ratio, while the displayed value has two decimals. Transparent foreground is composited over the background; a transparent background is composited over white. This checks two colors, not gradients, images, focus behavior or the accessibility of an entire website. - [URL Encoder / Decoder](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/url-encoder-decoder): Encode or decode URL components, complete URLs and form query values locally. Paste a value into Input. Choose Component for one path or query value; choose Whole URL to preserve URL delimiters. Choose Form query value when spaces should use plus signs. Click Encode or Decode and inspect the result. Copy the result; Clear removes both fields. Use Example to explore without private data. Whole URL uses encodeURI/decodeURI and preserves reserved URL separators. Component mode uses encodeURIComponent/decodeURIComponent and treats delimiters as data. Form query value mode converts spaces to + and decodes + as space. A literal plus encodes as %2B. Malformed escapes, invalid UTF-8 and unpaired Unicode surrogates are rejected. This tool does not fetch or navigate to entered URLs. - [Regex Tester](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/regex-tester): Test JavaScript regular expressions with flags, match offsets, capture groups and cancellation. Enter the pattern without enclosing slash delimiters. Enter flags such as g, i or m, then paste the test text. Click Test regex; use Cancel if you want to stop early. Read match offsets, captured groups and named groups in the results. Adjust the pattern and run again. Example demonstrates named word captures. The browser JavaScript regex engine is used, not PCRE or Python. Offsets count UTF-16 code units. Without g, only the first match is shown; zero-length global matches advance correctly in Unicode mode. Patterns are limited to 2,000 characters and input to 100,000. Each worker has a one-second deadline and is terminated on completion, cancellation, input edits or page hiding. Results stop at 1,000 matches; displayed match text is capped at 500 characters and groups at 20. - [QR Code Generator](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/qr-code-generator): Generate a QR code from text or a URL locally and download a PNG with selectable error correction. Paste the exact text or URL you want the QR code to contain. Choose a PNG size of 256, 512 or 1,024 pixels. Choose error correction L, M, Q or H; M is the default. Click Generate QR and inspect the preview. Scan with your phone to verify the content, then Download PNG. Input is limited to 1,500 UTF-8 bytes; capacity can be lower with stronger error correction. Dense codes need sufficient printed size and contrast. The output uses black on white and a four-module quiet zone. The QR code encodes the input exactly. The entered URL is not fetched or shortened, and there is no scan tracking or dynamic redirect. Selecting a code does not establish that its destination is safe. - [Image Resizer](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/image-resizer): Resize a local still PNG, JPEG or WebP by dimensions or percentage and download the result. Select a still PNG, JPEG or WebP file. Choose Dimensions or Percentage. With aspect lock enabled, width determines the proportional height. Select PNG, JPEG or WebP output. Choose quality for JPEG/WebP and a background for JPEG. Click Resize and check the preview, pixel dimensions and output size. Download the result; Clear releases the loaded image. The original file stays unchanged. Inputs are bounded to 10 MiB, 4,096 pixels per edge and 8 megapixels total, with header checks before decoding. Output obeys the same dimension and pixel limits. Animated PNG/WebP, GIF, SVG and HEIC are unsupported. The decoder applies image orientation. PNG/WebP can preserve transparency; JPEG uses the selected opaque background. Browser canvas encoding removes metadata and can alter color profiles. Quality does not affect PNG, and animated-image preservation is not supported. - [Password Generator & Strength Checker](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/password-generator): Generate random passwords using browser cryptography and review local length and pattern warnings. Choose a length from 8 to 128 and select at least one character set. Optionally exclude ambiguous characters such as I, l, 1, O, 0 and o. Click Generate password; each selected set is represented. Review length, the strength indication and pattern warnings; copy only when ready. To check another password, enter it in Strength checker. Clear removes both fields; no history is saved. Generation uses crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling and requires all selected sets. No Math.random fallback is used. The checker accepts at most 512 characters and flags short length, selected common words, repetitions, sequences and date-like patterns. Strength feedback is a conservative local heuristic, not an exhaustive dictionary, breach lookup or security certification. A long predictable password can be weak. Use unique passwords and a password manager; UUIDs and fast SHA hashes are not substitutes for password generation or secure password storage. - [Text Diff](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/text-diff): Compare two texts locally and inspect added, removed and unchanged lines with whitespace controls. Paste the original text in Before and the updated text in After. Enable Ignore whitespace only if spacing differences do not matter to your task. Click Compare to see added, removed and unchanged lines. Read + for added and − for removed; unchanged lines have no change marker. Copy the comparison or Clear both inputs. Example shows a small configuration change. Comparison uses a bounded longest-common-subsequence algorithm with at most 1,000 lines and 100,000 characters per side. It compares lines, not individual words, and has no patch-application feature. CRLF line endings are normalized to LF; trailing newlines are still compared. Ignore whitespace trims each line and collapses runs of whitespace for comparison, while displayed content is preserved. All text is rendered as text rather than injected HTML. - [SHA Hash Generator](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/hash-generator): Calculate SHA-256, SHA-384 or SHA-512 hashes for UTF-8 text or a bounded local file. Choose Text or Local file as the input mode. Enter the exact text, including meaningful whitespace, or choose a file up to 10 MiB. Select SHA-256, SHA-384 or SHA-512. Click Generate hash and inspect the lowercase hexadecimal digest. Copy or download the digest. Clear removes the local fields. Text is UTF-8 encoded without trimming or normalizing whitespace and is bounded to 1 MiB of encoded bytes. Files are hashed as their original bytes, with a 10 MiB limit. Empty text has a valid hash. Unpaired surrogates use the standard TextEncoder replacement character. Web Crypto requires HTTPS and a supported browser. Hashing is not encryption and cannot recover the input. SHA-256/384/512 are fast general-purpose hashes, not password-storage functions; use a dedicated password hashing scheme in an application. - [JSON Formatter](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/json-formatter): Format, validate, minify and explore JSON in a tree viewer locally. Paste JSON or open a local JSON file. Format with two spaces, four spaces or tabs, validate syntax, minify, sort object keys, or explore a collapsible tree. Invalid JSON shows its line and column. Copy or download your result without uploading your input. - [Base64 Encoder / Decoder](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/base64): Encode text or files to Base64, or decode standard and URL-safe data. Paste text and choose Encode, or paste Base64 and choose Decode. Open a file to encode its original bytes. Enable URL-safe for the alternate alphabet, and switch output between Base64, UTF-8 text and hexadecimal bytes. Binary results can be downloaded as a file. Auto-detect suggests an action; you can always choose either button. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption. - [UUID Generator](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/uuid-generator): Generate UUIDs and GUIDs in bulk with v1, v4, v6 and v7 options. Choose UUID version 1, 4, 6 or 7 and a quantity from 1 to 1,000, then generate your identifiers locally. Use lowercase or uppercase, include or remove hyphens, and optionally add braces. Formatting preserves the generated identifiers. Copy individual UUIDs or the whole batch, or download TXT and CSV files. - [Unix Timestamp Converter](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/timestamp-converter): Convert Unix and epoch timestamps to dates and back, in seconds or milliseconds. Enter a Unix timestamp in seconds or milliseconds and view its UTC or local date. Convert a date back using an ISO date with an explicit offset, or choose a date, time and timezone. Copy individual values or download the conversion as TXT or JSON. - [JWT Decoder](https://www.anyutils.dev/tools/jwt-decoder): Decode JSON Web Token headers, payloads, claims and expiration dates locally. Paste a three-part JWT to read its Base64URL-encoded header and payload. Decoding does not verify the signature, establish authenticity or prove the token is safe to trust. ## Hardware tests - [Screen Resolution](https://www.anyutils.dev/hardware/screen-resolution): Inspect browser-reported screen size, viewport dimensions and device pixel ratio. - [Dead Pixel Test](https://www.anyutils.dev/hardware/dead-pixel-test): Inspect your display manually using solid white, black, red, green, blue and gray patterns. - [Webcam Test](https://www.anyutils.dev/hardware/webcam-test): Run a camera test with a live webcam preview, resolution details and local snapshots. Click Start camera and allow browser permission. Capture requests video only, without microphone access. Choose an available camera and Auto, 720p or 1080p resolution preference after starting. The preview shows browser-reported resolution and frame rate, not a quality score. Mirror affects the preview only. Snapshot creates a local PNG in camera orientation; its longest edge is limited to 4096 pixels. Stop, Cancel, hiding the page or leaving releases the camera. Returning requires a new Start. Delayed permission responses after cancellation are released. There is no video recording or upload. Use HTTPS and a browser with camera support. For denied access, review browser and operating-system privacy settings. For a busy device, close other camera applications. Requested resolutions depend on device support. - [Microphone Test](https://www.anyutils.dev/hardware/microphone-test): Run a mic check, view microphone input levels and record a short clip for playback. Click Start microphone and allow browser permission. Capture requests audio only. The live microphone connects to an analyser, never to speaker output; choose another input after starting if available. The meter shows relative signal percentage, peak amplitude and near-clipping, not calibrated sound-pressure decibels or a hardware-quality score. Record clip is optional and explicit, limited to 30 seconds and 8 MiB. Finish recording ends the clip while the live meter continues. Stop microphone releases capture and finalizes a clip. Playback is available when capture is stopped. Download uses the supported recording format, such as WebM, MP4/M4A or Ogg. A new clip replaces the previous clip. Clear clip discards it. Hiding or leaving the page clears recordings and releases capture; returning requires Start. If MediaRecorder is unavailable, the meter can still work but recording is disabled. Check browser/OS permissions, mute controls, the selected input and other applications using the microphone. - [Speaker Test](https://www.anyutils.dev/hardware/speaker-test): Check speakers or headphones with a gentle melody or plain stereo test tone. Choose Gentle melody or 440 Hz tone, then click Left speaker, Right speaker, Both channels or Test sequence to play locally generated sound. No microphone or camera permission is requested. The browser/system default audio output is used; change the output in system or browser settings. The default four-note melody lasts 2.7 seconds per channel; its left/right/both sequence finishes in under ten seconds. The optional 440 Hz sine tone lasts one second per channel. Both have short fades. Default test volume is 30 percent, with maximum digital gain limited to 0.3. Start with low system volume. The test slider does not control system volume or guarantee physical loudness. Stereo headphones help distinguish channels; mono settings and devices can merge channels. Stop, a volume change, a new test, a hidden page or navigation cancels playback and closes audio resources. Completion means scheduled playback finished; the tool cannot determine whether you heard it or whether the hardware passed. - [Keyboard Test](https://www.anyutils.dev/hardware/keyboard-test): Use a keyboard tester to check physical keys, held states and repeat events. Click Start testing and keep the dedicated test area focused. The visual keyboard uses US-style physical positions including modifiers, navigation and numpad. KeyboardEvent.code identifies positions; the displayed key value can differ by layout. Held and tested keys are distinguished. Initial presses and auto-repeat counts are separate, with at most 12 recent physical key codes. Typed text is not assembled or saved. Tab leaves the area. Browser/OS shortcuts remain available. Blur, tab hiding and window focus loss clear held keys; Reset clears progress and refocuses the test area. Fn/media keys, system-reserved shortcuts and virtual keyboards may not generate observable events. An untested position is not proof of a failed key. A connected physical keyboard is recommended on mobile. - [Mouse Test](https://www.anyutils.dev/hardware/mouse-test): Test mouse buttons, browser double-clicks, scroll wheel events and pointer movement. Click Start testing or click inside the dedicated area. Mouse input stays scoped to that area. Touch, pen and synthetic events are not counted as mouse tests. The tool shows primary, middle, secondary, Back and Forward button counts and held states, native double-clicks, wheel direction/deltas and pointer position/distance in CSS pixels. Movement is not calibrated DPI or polling-rate measurement. Wheel values retain their browser-reported pixel, line or page units. Native double-click counts are not a hardware fault detector. Context menus and middle-button auto-scroll are prevented only within the focused area. Browser Back/Forward navigation and Ctrl/Meta wheel zoom remain available. Back/Forward may navigate before a result appears. Leaving the area, losing focus or hiding the page clears held states and movement baselines. Reset clears results and refocuses the area. No pointer history, device identifiers or results are uploaded or stored. ## Step-by-step tool guides - [How to Pick Colors and Convert HEX, RGB and HSL](https://www.anyutils.dev/docs/color-picker): Choose a color, convert HEX, RGB and HSL values, adjust transparency and copy CSS colors.
