Position and distance use browser CSS pixels. They do not measure physical DPI or polling rate.

Ready. Focus the test area to check your mouse or trackpad.

How to test your mouse

Click Start testing or click inside the test area. Move the pointer and press left, middle and right buttons to see held states and press counts. Double-click the area to check your browser’s double-click detection, then scroll vertically or horizontally. Reset clears all results. Events outside the area are not counted.

Mouse troubleshooting

Check that the test area has focus. Try a different USB port or check wireless batteries if events are missing. Primary/secondary assignments, natural scrolling and double-click timing depend on system settings. Browser Back/Forward buttons can navigate away before the page receives their events.

Mouse button and scroll wheel checks

Click inside the test area, then try left, right and middle buttons and vertical or horizontal scrolling. Side buttons may trigger browser navigation. Native double-click counts depend on browser and system timing; pointer distance uses CSS pixels.

Frequently asked questions

Can this detect a faulty double-click switch?

It displays native browser double-click events. Those events alone cannot distinguish a mechanical fault from intended clicks or system timing settings.

Does this measure mouse DPI, polling rate or CPS?

No. The tool reports button events, wheel deltas and pointer movement. It does not provide calibrated DPI, polling-rate or timed clicks-per-second measurements.

Does this measure DPI or polling rate?

No. Movement is reported in browser CSS pixels and event counts. Acceleration, scaling and browser event processing prevent this test from providing calibrated physical DPI or polling-rate measurements.

Why is the right-click menu hidden?

The context menu is suppressed only inside the focused test area so you can check the secondary button. Normal context menus work elsewhere on the page.

What does a double-click count mean?

It counts double-click events recognized by your browser using system timing settings. It does not diagnose accidental double-click faults or guarantee a hardware pass.

Can I test a trackpad?

Yes. Trackpad mouse-style movement, clicks and wheel events can be observed. Touchscreen and pen events are not counted as physical mouse input.

Why do wheel values differ?

Browsers report wheel deltas in pixels, lines or pages. The test displays the actual unit and direction without pretending different units are equivalent.
