QR Code Generator guide
How to Generate and Download a QR Code Locally
Create QR codes for text or URLs, choose size and error correction and save a PNG. Learn capacity limits, scanning checks and local-processing behavior.
Open QR Code Generator →Before you start
- Use a current browser with JavaScript enabled. Read the limits below before using private or large inputs.
Step-by-step instructions
- Paste the exact text or URL you want the QR code to contain.
- Choose a PNG size of 256, 512 or 1,024 pixels.
- Choose error correction L, M, Q or H; M is the default.
- Click Generate QR and inspect the preview.
- Scan with your phone to verify the content, then Download PNG.
Interpret results and limitations
Input is limited to 1,500 UTF-8 bytes; capacity can be lower with stronger error correction. Dense codes need sufficient printed size and contrast. The output uses black on white and a four-module quiet zone.
The QR code encodes the input exactly. The entered URL is not fetched or shortened, and there is no scan tracking or dynamic redirect. Selecting a code does not establish that its destination is safe.
Example
Use this example to understand the expected behavior before working with your own input.

The QR code is too dense or will not scan
Shorten the content, use a larger image or lower error correction. Keep the white quiet zone intact and verify the downloaded code before printing.
The interface does not respond
Enable JavaScript, use a supported browser and check the input limits. Reloading clears temporary input and results.
Privacy and cleanup
Inputs and results stay in the current tab. Nothing is uploaded or stored in input history. Optional analytics receives fixed tool identifiers only; entered data, file names and generated values are excluded.
